About

Hi, I’m Marianne Deeks.

I hold a Master of Divinity in Clinical Counselling from Tyndale University and Seminary, as well as a Child and Youth Work Diploma from George Brown College. For the past 28 years, I’ve worked with Youth Unlimited, a non-profit youth organization, supporting teens, young adults, and families through mentoring, outreach, and program development. I’ve also had the privilege of working with youth overseas, gaining valuable cross-cultural insight into the challenges young people face around the world.

Over the past 30 years, I’ve served in diverse settings—including high schools, church youth groups, and community programs—always with the goal of helping young people and their families navigate difficult circumstances so they can build resilience, grow in confidence, and thrive. My hope is that, through healing and personal growth, they will be empowered not only to care for themselves but also to make a meaningful impact in their communities.

I’m a registered psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO), and my practice is located in Newmarket, a vibrant community just north of Toronto. My approach to therapy is compassionate and relationship-centered, drawing from a family systems approach. I believe in the resilience and potential of every individual and am committed to creating a safe, non-judgmental space where clients feel supported and understood.

I work with children, adolescents, young adults and families, and bring experience from facilitating youth programs, meeting one-on-one, and organizing conferences. I value the importance of exploring relational dynamics, recognizing how our identities are shaped by the people and systems around us. By helping clients examine family patterns and the influence of key relationships, I support them in building emotional clarity, stronger connections, and a more grounded sense of self.

I am the mother of three young adults. In my spare time, I love spending time camping, mountain biking or hiking with my husband.

“Parenting can be one of the most rewarding roles we take on—but it can also be one of the most challenging. There are times when, despite our best efforts, we feel stuck or unsure of how to support our teen. In those moments, it can make a big difference to have someone walk alongside us, even for a short time, to help navigate whatever our teen may be going through.”
